Three classic difficulties
Minesweeper has been played on the same three board sizes since the early 1990s, and those sizes are what every leaderboard and speedrun record is measured against. All three are available above; pick one with the buttons and the board rebuilds instantly.

Density is what actually makes Expert hard. Beginner gives you roughly eight safe squares for every mine, so a careless click usually costs you nothing. Expert gives you fewer than four, which means the board runs out of guaranteed-safe moves far more often and you are forced into real deductions much earlier.
Controls
- Left click reveals a square. The first click of every game is always safe, so open anywhere you like.
- Right click places or removes a flag. Flags never affect the board logic; they are notes to yourself, and the mine counter simply subtracts them.
- Double click (or left+right together) on a revealed number performs a chord: if you have already flagged exactly as many mines as the number shows, every remaining hidden neighbour opens at once.
- Touch devices: tap to reveal, long-press for about half a second to flag.
- Keyboard: arrow keys move the cursor, Enter or Space reveals, and F toggles a flag, so the whole game is playable without a mouse.
Winning
You win when every square that does not contain a mine has been revealed. You do not need to flag a single mine to win, and flagging every mine on its own does not end the game. Flags are a bookkeeping tool, not a win condition.
You lose the moment you reveal a mine. There is no undo, because an undo would remove the only thing that makes a deduction matter.

The board runs entirely in your browser. Nothing about your game is sent anywhere, there is no sign-up wall, and once the page has loaded once it keeps working even if your connection drops.
